Description:
This is an excellent chance for someone with creative flair and proven writing skills to get involved with all aspects of the day to day running of British Waterways’ websites.
About the role
Working primarily on waterscape.com and britishwaterways.co.uk, you will be responsible for creating new content for the web on anything from inspirational feature articles to cycling routes and corporate information. You will ensure all sites are kept up-to-date, accurate and relevant, including the systematic checking and auditing of existing pages. Responding to customer enquiries, assistance with editorial scheduling and the monitoring of web traffic are key duties. You will also get involved with our social media campaign and must be prepared to work flexibly as part of a wider marketing team.
About you
Successful candidates will be educated to degree level in English or Journalism and have outstanding copywriting skills, writing clear and concise ‘web-friendly’ content at speed. You will need the confidence to use several Content Management Systems and to work closely with web developers and colleagues from different departments. Bags of enthusiasm, good time-management skills and an eye for detail are essential. Knowledge of SEO, writing for the web and Photoshop would be an advantage
